I have a Long family history in town – that together with an involvement in volunteering and currently serving on local boards of directors for the Caledon Library and the Caledon Community Services has lead me to this moment.
I am very passionate about the town we live in. I want to make sure my family friends and neighbors live in a town they are proud of- feel safe in- and is growing with their needs.
I want to make sure we’re growing responsibly. Amongst all of the planned development on the west side.
A few things that I am passionate about, and have been working hard for are:
Connecting the Community- involvement in the library and ccs boards to make sure we have places and programs to connect, innovate and grow. Sharing and learning together.
Transportation – it’s not the easiest to get around our town. But transportation programs like we provide at ccs make it easier for some to get where they have to go. It’s very special to be involved with an organization who places a priority on our aging population and persons with disabilities and challenging conditions to get from point a-b.
Economic development- attracting the right businesses to our town (hopefully offsetting our tax base) and helping grow our local businesses is our duty. I’m a big advocate for travel and tourism into Caledon- working with the National Ballet’s Canada 150 campaign profiling Caledon, working with our businesses to help guide them in attracting outside – and inside- customers to the area.
As our communities within our community grow, so should the facilities that are associated with them. This is where we have the opportunity to preserve and provide enough green space for families to enjoy, and recreation facilities for residents and their pets to stay active and healthy. I am a strong advocate for green spaces and recreational spaces that meet the needs of residents.
This is the time to make sure we have responsible growth in the area. Im here for you.
